I've just migrated to Contract Manager 11.1 from Expedition 8.5.  Most everything is working fine, except I'm trying to setup a test group.  I want to copy some information from my original group to the test group.  It appears that the only way to do this is to back up a project from the original and restore to the test.  Backup doesn't seem to be a problem.  Restoring seemed to work but was a little strange.  A few seconds after starting the restore a message box appeared with no message just an OK button.  Clicking OK made the message box go away but the project did not appear in my All Projects list.  Log out and project appeared and everything looked OK.  Now I can't add a new project.  System will take setup information but when it tries to add the project I get a message that says "Error" and nothing else.  If I try to delete the imported project I get a message that it doesn't exist.

I'm just wondering if anyone else has seen anything similar.

This seems to be a problem do to moving from Exp 8.5 to CM 11.  Primavera is working on the problem.

Most times it is recomended to convert your 8.5 database to version 9, then 10, then 11.  Then your project may import better.

Depending on what database you're using, try making a copy of the production schema (group) and call it TEST. Then goto Administration module, and manually add another group to the system.

i am using P6v 6.2 standalone version. Now we have bought P6 V7 server version and installed it on server location.
i want to migrate all  projects from my PC hard drive to server database. same case with my colleague. as we want to use server version of P6v7.
how will we do it? i have back up database as mentioned by you.
if i install P6 v7 directly on my hard drive , what will happen to my earlier database?? will it be still there and will i be able to use it using new version? as i mentioned new version we want as a server base ... i am confused
