Can any one tell me that how can i estimate resource in Primavera 6, i have designed the plan, defined activities but now i want to add resources but before adding them i want to estimate that how many people/hour do i require to complete that plan so how can i do that? is there any formula or procedure please guide step by step.

you have to know how many manhours or costs you have for each activity. To do this you must know some type of quantity that you are installing. Linear feet or CY or Cubic yards, Meters etc.

You have to know how much that you are going to install before you can say how men that you want to use. Once you know the number of men then you can determine your duration on how long it will take to install it.

Know your rate of installation - how fast can you install it how many ft/day ?

# of men - How many of men do you want to use

this will give your your duration

or if you have your duration that you know you want to perform the work in then you will have to determing the # of men you want to use on this activity

I ve followed ur instruction to prepare the schedule and also loaded the resources as lumpsum units and also i keep update of actual progress by every month.

can u please advise me how to use primavera to control the project, what are the reports need to produce and how to track.
