Hi, I am a junior level scheduler. I work for a small firm in Houston, TX. I have been tasked with translating a 35yr. old schedule into P6.
My question is; Does anyone have a "template" engineering schedule for Mechanical, Civil/Structural, Piping, Process, etc, etc?

Thanks for any and all input!

    Pat

What format is the old schedule in? Can it be converted to a useful format such as excel or word or Access. If you open the old document, then click "save as" then select all files. Then open as an excel file. It should be easy from there. Hope this helps out.

I've also got a few generic templates you could begin with. Give me a contact e-mail address and I'll see about getting them over to you. Good luck

Thanks. To answer your first question, the old schedules are hard copies only. and they are done on blueprint paper.

    Contact email: psmith@teamcec.com

    Thanks again for your help.

    Hello turbineexpert,

Can you post the templates here in a zip file if you don't mind? Then we can start to make a library of templates maybe?

    Cheers,

    Ahmet Cetin

    Hi Mustafa,

Your Zip file ENG1 is very informative.

Question: How did you get the various bar colors in you LT1 of the schedule.

I checked the P3.1 Manual and its referes to Pg.446 'Changing Screen Colors'

does not detail how to change bar colors for various phases.

    Thanks

    Sital

    Sital

This is done by assigning a pattern and or color to the bar.

    1. select format bars

    2. select the pattern button in the lower left hand corner

    3. in the Pattern bars based on activity code select the activity code that you want o define colors and patterns for in this case it was phase ( it can be any activity code)

    4. Then select the Assign patterns for all code values

    5. change the pattern and color to your likeing. You can also remove some of the items for that code by selecting the - (minus) button in case you do not want a pattern or different color for that specific code value. lets say you did not want a separate color of phase 3 then just move it - button from the selection
